The Turtle
A meditation to guide you back home, for the arrival of the Cold Moon
The December 15th full moon is called the cold moon, as the winter solstice is just around the corner on December 21st.
The cold moon encourages us to find the refuge in the heart and hearth and to turn within to pause and reflect.
This moon is in Gemini, an air sign known for duality and quick-wit. The sign also shines a light on how we communicate and relate to others. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the fastest planet, taking 88 days to orbit the earth. This moon will bring insights to dilemmas we've long been pondering.
Journal practice
Consider your current relationships. What connections feel meaningful, and which might need nurturing?
Gemini's influence highlights the importance of dialogue, so reflect on how you communicate with others and yourself.
Additionally, explore what new ideas or interests have been sparking your imagination? Write about any insights or questions that arise, allowing yourself the freedom to wander through your thoughts without judgment.
Lastly, think about your personal growth. What lessons have you learned this year, and how can they guide you moving forward? The Cold Moon is a perfect opportunity to set intentions for the upcoming months, aligning with the fresh energy that Gemini brings.
As you journal, embrace the duality of Gemini—balance your thoughts and feelings, and let this lunar phase inspire a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. Happy journaling!
The Turtle's Shell: A Symbol of Home and Inner Peace
The turtle represents home as it lives inside its shell. The shell is fused to the turtles spine that
grows with the turtle so they are always at home, that serves as their shelter and protection.
This characteristic helps us reflect on the deeper meaning of home, not just a physical space but
a sanctuary within ourselves. Spirtually home is that place of safety, comfort, inner peace and
where our true self resides.
As we journey through this practice and life, let’s remember the turtle’s lesson: that true home is
not just a physical destination, but a profound sense of belonging within ourselves. By honoring
our inner space, we can create a life filled with peace, fulfillment, and connection.
